{ Hubble: Mirada a las profundidades del espacio-tiempo }

La NASA, la ESA y el Instituto científico del Telescopio Espacial (STScI) acaban de publicar una nueva fotografía del Espacio Profundo obtenida por el Hubble. Esta imagen tiene nada menos que 11 días de exposición, para poder captar la luz de las galaxias más lejanas posibles. Denominada Campo Ultra Profundo, la imagen es el resultado de la combinación de un total de 800 exposiciones obtenidas con la Cámara Avanzada para Catálogos durante el 24 sep 2004 y el 16 ene 2004. Las galaxias más pequeñas y rojas son de cuando el Universo tenía 800 millones de años, mientras que las más grandes y brillantes están más cercanas, a 13000 millones de años.

Hace unos años ya se había publicado la imagen de Campo Profundo, aunque esta es mucho más profunda.

A pesar de estos fantásticos resultados, el Hubble tiene los años contados, debido a la decisión de la NASA no realizar la cuarta misión de servicio para su puesta a punto. Puedes protestar en Save the Hubble.
